Sales Executive - General Trade (Central)
Position Summary
Reporting to : Regional Sales Manager
You are responsible for working with the distributor sales team to promote and sell the organization’s products and services within established procedures and guidelines in assigned geographic areas, products, and a list of customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets.
Your role :
1) Sales Plan Execution
- Execute sales plans per distributor/outlet according to plan.
- Lead and coach the distributor sales team.
- Ensure assigned route plan and outlet call procedures are adhered to by the distributor sales team.
- Cascade and execute promotional plans and product listing.
- Ensure sell-in of assigned promotions and other activities.
- Prepare strong selling stories based on inputs from Marketing, Category Marketing, and General Trade to influence business improvements with all customers by ensuring it is utilized by the distributor sales team.
- Monitor and report on post-execution to ensure objectives are met.
2) Customer Relationship Building
- Manage day-to-day distributor relationships and incentive programs.
- Maintain and retain long-term distributor relationships and ensure shared objectives are met.
- Interact timely and satisfactory manner with the distributor.
3) Merchandising
- Maximize merchandising and shelf presence, securing secondary display as required and ensuring planograms are adhered to with the right stock weights.
- Support all merchandising efforts by identification of display locations, liaison with product consultants and merchandisers, and helping with block display or merchandising efforts.
4) Collection
- Ensure collection and aging are up to date for the assigned distributor.
5) Product & Market Knowledge
- Apply detailed product knowledge and thorough knowledge of distributor business and processes.
- Build market knowledge continuously and refer sales leads, customer feedback, and information on competitor activity to the company.
Requirements :
- Preferably a Diploma or Certificate in Business, Marketing or equivalent
- IT skills required: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- At least 2 to 3 years of working experience in General Trade with Distributor Management experience in a dynamic FMCG industry
- Good communication skills in both oral and written
- Customer-oriented. Willing to provide good service and commit to internal and external customer
- Goal-getter, result oriented, mature, tactful, and committed with a high degree of drive and integrity
- Assertive, able to work under pressure, and positive outlook
