About the Role

Our client, a well-established property development group in Malaysia, is seeking an accomplished Senior General Manager, Property Development to lead its luxury, high-end property development projects in Kuala Lumpur.

This role will oversee the overall business and project development operations, driving strategic planning, commercial performance and project execution. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving business objectives, driving revenue and profitability, overseeing sales performance and ensuring the successful delivery of development projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee cross-functional teams across various departments to ensure successful project execution and achievement of business objectives.

• Develop and implement comprehensive project business plans, including business strategies, market analysis and strategic action plans.

• Drive sales performance and ensure targets are achieved in line with established KPIs and business plan objectives.

• Oversee project financial performance, budgets and cost management to ensure profitability and cost effectiveness.

• Ensure timely contract awards while maintaining compliance with approved budgets and project cost targets.

• Lead product development initiatives to strengthen product differentiation and enhance the project's market positioning.

• Ensure product offerings are aligned with customer expectations, market trends and overall business strategies.

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with government authorities and key stakeholders to facilitate project approvals and execution.

• Develop and implement marketing strategies to strengthen market penetration and support sales objectives.

• Oversee project site execution to ensure quality standards, timely delivery and minimal defects.

• Ensure project launches are carried out according to approved business plans and sales strategies.

• Identify opportunities to improve project processes, operational efficiency and overall project performance.

• Provide strategic leadership, coaching and guidance to build a high-performing team and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent relevant discipline.

• Minimum 15 years of relevant working experience in the property development industry.

• Strong experience in luxury or high-end residential and property development projects.

• Proven track record in managing large-scale property development projects and overseeing overall project and business operations.

• Strong commercial acumen, with experience in business planning, financial management, sales performance and profitability.

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.

• Good understanding of property development processes, project execution and regulatory requirements.

• Experience working in a publicly listed company or established property development organisation will be an advantage.

• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and decision-making skills.

• High level of integrity, accountability and strategic thinking.
