Job Description

Our client is a manufacturing company seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support regional engineering projects involving equipment design, fabrication, quality assurance, and project execution. This role works closely with global engineering teams and vendors to ensure projects are delivered according to quality, schedule, and engineering standards. It is ideal for candidates who enjoy a combination of mechanical design, project coordination, and hands-on equipment inspection within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review mechanical designs and manufacturing drawings to ensure technical accuracy.
• Monitor equipment fabrication progress, conduct quality inspections, and drive corrective actions for non-conformities.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and project status updates.
• Support mechanical design activities using AutoCAD/SolidWorks, including drawing preparation and revision control.
• Maintain engineering documentation, design libraries, and version-controlled records.
• Coordinate with global project teams, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders throughout project execution.
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, vendor evaluation, and continuous process improvement.
• Ensure compliance with engineering, safety, and quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2–3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, industrial equipment, or project engineering.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and engineering drawings.
• Experience inspecting industrial equipment, including dimensions, tolerances, welding, and paint quality.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with international teams.
• Good command of English and Mandarin (spoken and written).
• Willing to travel regionally, particularly between Malaysia and China, based on project requirements.
