About our client:
Our client, a prominent leader in their industry, is currently seeking a Finance Controller. This role will oversee and drive the financial health and strategic direction of the business operations in Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership to the finance function, building a results-driven team culture focused on governance, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Establish and implement short- and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures aligned with the organisation’s overall business strategy.
- Direct the full spectrum of finance operations, including Financial Reporting, Corporate Reporting, Credit Control, Treasury, and Accounts, ensuring accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and operational effectiveness.
- Oversee corporate reporting functions, ensuring the timely preparation of management reports, board papers, and consolidated financial reports to support executive decision-making.
- Safeguard financial integrity through robust internal controls, prudent cash flow management, and effective oversight of credit, vendor, and banking relationships.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting cycles, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, business plans, and performance targets.
- Drive operational efficiency and financial performance by monitoring key finance metrics, implementing best practices, and championing continuous process improvements.
- Review and approve all agreements concerning financial obligations, including contracts for products or services and other commitments requiring allocation of financial resources.
- Collaborate with senior management, auditors, regulators, and external stakeholders to ensure transparent financial governance and compliance with statutory and corporate requirements.
Key Requirements:
- Min degree, CPA/ACCA/CIMA qualification.
- Min 15 years of working experience within Consumer industry.
- Commercially driven professional with exceptional problem-solving and creative skills, capable of exercising sound judgment and making well-informed decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
- Strong interpersonal & stakeholder management skills with good business acumen & strategic thinking.
- Highly-motivated, results-oriented, and forward-thinking leader/team player with good work ethic, credibility, and sense of integrity
