Role Summary
Our client, a leading player in the FMCG industry, is seeking a Commercial Excellence Manager to drive the implementation of best-in-class commercial strategies across the FMCG business. This role is responsible for optimizing sales performance, pricing, trade promotion effectiveness, and customer engagement to maximize revenue and market share. The ideal candidate combines analytical rigor with commercial insight and has a proven track record in FMCG or fast-moving consumer products.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute commercial excellence initiatives to improve sales effectiveness and efficiency.
- Support the development of sales strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals and market trends.
- Analyze competitor strategies and market dynamics to identify growth opportunities.
Sales Performance Management
- Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide actionable insights to sales teams to enhance productivity and revenue.
- Implement tools and processes for sales forecasting, pipeline management, and performance tracking.
Pricing & Trade Promotion
- Design and implement pricing strategies to optimize profitability and market competitiveness.
- Evaluate trade promotions and marketing campaigns for ROI and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with marketing and finance teams to establish promotional calendars and budgeting.
Process Optimization & Best Practices
- Identify, document, and implement commercial best practices across sales channels.
- Lead projects for sales process improvements and digital tools adoption.
- Ensure consistent reporting and dashboards for management visibility.
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to align commercial activities.
- Present insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
- Train and coach sales teams on commercial excellence initiatives and tools.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in commercial excellence, sales strategy, or analytics within FMCG.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making.
- Knowledge of pricing, trade promotions, and retail/channel management in FMCG.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, BI software, and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI).
