Job Description

Our client is looking for a seasoned and people-focused HR leader to head the HR / People & Culture function while working closely with the CEO, Management team, and Department Heads. This position requires a combination of strategic vision, hands-on execution, business partnering, and people leadership within a professional services setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the organisation's HR strategy, workforce plans, and people initiatives in line with business objectives.
  • Act as a strategic HR advisor to the CEO, Management team, and Department Heads on organisational, workforce, and people-related matters.
  • Lead talent acquisition and employer branding efforts to attract, engage, and retain high-quality talent.
  • Drive performance management, talent development, succession planning, and learning initiatives across the organisation.
  • Champion employee engagement, culture-building, retention, and employee experience programmes to create a high-performing work environment.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters, including disciplinary issues, grievances, and other sensitive situations with professionalism and sound judgement.
  • Oversee compensation and benefits programmes, salary reviews, promotions, and reward frameworks to ensure fairness and market competitiveness.
  • Ensure HR policies, procedures, governance, and compliance practices are aligned with legal requirements and company standards.
  • Utilise HR data and workforce analytics to support decision-making and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team while fostering accountability, collaboration, process excellence, and HR digital transformation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Psychology, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of progressive HR experience, including leadership or managerial responsibilities.
  • Experience within a professional services environment is highly desirable, such as Accounting, Audit, Tax, Advisory, Legal, Consulting, IT, Technology Services, or other knowledge-based sectors.
  • Proven experience managing or supporting organisations with a workforce of 100 employees or more.
  • Strong HR generalist expertise across recruitment, performance management, employee relations, learning and development, compensation and benefits, and HR operations.
  • Sound knowledge of Malaysian employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Strong stakeholder management, business partnering, and leadership capabilities, with experience collaborating closely with senior management.
  • High emotional intelligence, with the maturity and judgement to handle sensitive employee matters effectively.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on, adaptable, and improvement-focused, with the ability to balance strategic goals and operational priorities.
  • Strong integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential matters.
