Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop, port, and optimize Type-1 Hypervisors for SoC platforms and target system environments.
  • Design and implement virtualization-aware device drivers for hardware accelerators and peripherals, including GPU, NPU, VPU, ISP, and interface-related devices.
  • Analyze and optimize virtualization performance metrics such as interrupt latency, VM Exit/Entry overhead, and memory-access latency to meet the requirements of autonomous driving and robotics applications.
  • Contribute to chip-level functional emulator development and platform virtualization enablement using QEMU.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, BSP, driver, and system software teams to deliver and integrate end-to-end virtualization solutions across the platform stack.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Automation, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in system software and virtualization development.
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ and ARM assembly language, with deep knowledge of ARM architecture, including exception handling, MMU, GIC, and SMMU subsystems.
  • Solid understanding of operating system fundamentals and hands-on experience working with at least one kernel platform such as Linux, QNX, or FreeRTOS.
  • Practical experience with Type-1 Hypervisors, including ACRN, Xen, KVM on ARM, or QNX Hypervisor.
  • Strong knowledge of ARM Virtualization Extensions, including Stage-2 MMU, vGIC, vTimer, HCR_EL2, and related virtualization mechanisms.
  • Experience in QEMU-based functional emulator development is highly desirable.
  • Good understanding of Virtio architecture and frontend/backend driver development. Experience with technologies such as virtio-gpu, virtio-fs, or similar virtualization frameworks is considered a strong advantage.
  • Strong debugging, performance tuning, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across hardware and software teams to deliver production-ready virtualization solutions.
