Job Description

Our client is one of the largest fruit plantation firms in Malaysia. In order to support rapid and aggressive expansion, our client is looking for a talented and dynamic professional to join them as the Procurement Executive.  

Job Responsibilities

• Performing vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reducing operating costs and boosting efficiency.
• Maintaining cordial working relationships with vendors and supervising vendor activities.
• Reviewing purchasing agreements with vendors, monitoring their performance and negotiating contracts.
• Assist in vendors selection and tendering processes.
• Using monthly, quarterly and annual data to determine purchasing needs and performing inventory management.
• Managing purchase orders, overseeing shipping schedules and maintaining purchase records.
• Working with warehouse staff to compare deliveries with purchase orders to identify discrepancies.
• Conducting ongoing market research to identify beneficial purchase agreements and potential vendors..

Job Requirements

• Must have a Diploma or Degree in a related field.
• Must have at least two (2) years of experience in a procurement position.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills, a good understanding of sourcing and the ability to maintain vendor relationships.
• The role is based in Klang Valley, but travelling periodically to plantation site that is based in Kelantan would be required.
