Our client is an established F&B Retail Chain . To support rapid growth and expansion, they are looking for a Senior Merchandising Manager.

 

Job Responsibilities

Merchandising Strategy:

  • Develop and implement the overall merchandising strategy to meet business objectives and consumer demand.
  • Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitive activity to optimize product assortment.

Supplier Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate competitive trading terms, rebates, and marketing income.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with suppliers to ensure alignment with sales and profitability goals.

Category Management: 

  • Oversee category performance and develop plans for product introductions, promotions, and exits to optimize sales and inventory levels.
  • Analyze product sales data and adjust assortments and pricing strategies accordingly. 

Trading Terms and Rebates:

  • Negotiate and manage trading terms, supplier rebates, and promotional support to drive profitability.
  • Ensure all agreements with suppliers are compliant with company standards and provide maximum benefit. 

Marketing Income and Promotions:

  • Develop collaborative marketing campaigns with suppliers, ensuring that promotional activities drive incremental sales and supplier marketing income.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to coordinate in-store and digital promotions. 

Profitability and Reporting:

  • Monitor and analyze sales, profit margins, and other key financial metrics to ensure the merchandising plan delivers on company targets.
  • Prepare regular reports on merchandising performance, supplier contributions, and promotional effectiveness.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure smooth execution of merchandising plans.
  • Work with the store team to ensure optimal product presentation and merchandising standards are met in-store.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in merchandising or category management, preferably in the retail or FMCG sector.
  • Strong experience in negotiating trading terms, rebates, and supplier marketing income.
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills, with a proven track record of driving category growth and profitability.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
