Job Description

The Data Center Engineer is responsible for managing and executing the commissioning process of data center projects—from pre-commissioning through to final handover. The role ensures all mechanical/electrical, and control systems operate according to design specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead or support commissioning activities as part of the Commissioning Management (CxM) or Commissioning Team (CxT).
  • Plan, manage, and execute commissioning procedures, schedules, and documentation for data center systems (MEP, controls, and supporting infrastructure).
  • Perform pre-functional checks, functional performance testing, and integrated system testing.
  • Review system designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure they meet commissioning and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate with design, construction, and client teams to align commissioning deliverables with project milestones.
  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and troubleshoot technical issues during the commissioning process.
  • Ensure all systems comply with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
  • Prepare test reports, checklists, and commissioning documentation for submission and client approval.
  • Support post-commissioning evaluations and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide technical support, training, and guidance to site teams and contractors.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to provide progress updates and address commissioning-related concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality management procedures and safety protocols.
  • Assist with engineering documentation and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in commissioning, design consultancy, and construction environments.
  • Hands-on experience with fire protection systems and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems.
  • Familiarity with M&E design, installation, and testing processes preferred
  • Able to work independently on-site and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willing to travel or be based at project sites for short- or long-term durations.
