Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Factory Manager to oversee end-to-end operations within a central kitchen / food manufacturing environment. The role covers production, manpower planning, quality, safety, maintenance, and continuous improvement, as well as supporting facility expansion and operational upgrade initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily factory / central kitchen operations to ensure smooth production flow and achievement of output, quality, and delivery targets
  • Monitor productivity, efficiency, and downtime while driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure strict compliance with food safety standards (GMP, HACCP), hygiene, SOPs, and workplace safety requirements
  • Lead and manage production teams including supervisors, team leaders, and operational staff
  • Plan manpower allocation, staffing schedules, and workforce utilization based on production demand
  • Oversee raw material control, inventory management, and wastage reduction initiatives
  • Ensure preventive maintenance and equipment performance to minimize operational disruptions
  • Review production and operational reports and provide management updates on performance
  • Identify operational gaps and implement corrective and preventive actions for improvement
  • Lead or support factory expansion, renovation, and layout optimization projects
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and relevant stakeholders for project execution
  • Manage installation, commissioning, and readiness of new equipment and facilities
  • Ensure all projects are delivered within timeline, budget, and compliance requirements
  • Drive adoption of technology, systems, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and cost effectiveness
  • Foster effective communication across departments to ensure operational alignment
  • Undertake any other duties assigned by management

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Food Technology, Manufacturing, Operations Management or related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in central kitchen, food manufacturing, or large-scale production environment
  • Experience in factory setup, expansion, or project management will be an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety compliance
  • Proven leadership and team management experience in production operations
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Computer literate with ability to prepare reports and operational documentation
  • Proactive, hands-on, and results-driven
