About the Role

Our client in the technology and solutions industry is looking for a Data Scientist to join their team in Petaling Jaya. This is a newly created role supporting data science, advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives across the business.

The position is suited for an experienced Data Scientist who can work independently, translate complex business needs into analytical solutions and collaborate with regional and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse business and enterprise data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities.

• Develop predictive, forecasting, classification and optimisation models to support business decisions.

• Translate business requirements into practical data science and analytical solutions.

• Work closely with AI/ML teams to support the implementation of models and advanced analytics initiatives.

• Develop dashboards, reports and visualisations to communicate insights to business stakeholders.

• Support data quality, governance and responsible use of data across analytics initiatives.

• Explore new applications of AI, machine learning and advanced analytics to improve business performance.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics or a related field.

• Minimum 5–6 years of relevant experience in Data Science, Advanced Analytics, Business Analytics or a related discipline.

• Strong hands-on experience in Python, SQL, machine learning and statistical modelling.

• Experience with Snowflake is highly advantageous.

• Knowledge of Power BI is preferred; exposure to Power Apps or Power Automate is an added advantage.

• Strong experience working with business stakeholders and translating analytical findings into actionable insights.

• Able to work independently and take ownership of data science projects with minimal supervision.

• Experience within larger organisations or regional environments will be an advantage.
