Our client is a well-known property / construction firm. In order to support rapid and aggressive expansion, our client is looking for a talented and dynamic professional to join them as the Senior Quantity Surveyor.

 

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in project management, focusing on the evaluation and preparation of progress claims, resolution of contractual and commercial issues, and ensuring compliance with company standards and ISO requirements. The role also involves contract administration, cost management, and overseeing tendering processes.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and prepare project progress claims while verifying sub-contractor's monthly claims.
  • Resolve contractual and commercial issues and disputes on-site.
  • Manage, control, and validate all costings and changes within the assigned budget.
  • Review and recommend contractual claims and changes for verification and certification by superiors.
  • Oversee contract administration in alignment with the specified conditions.
  • Ensure operational work processes and documentation comply with the company's ISO standards.
  • Lead and initiate tendering processes, including conducting interviews, evaluating costs, analyzing proposals, recommending tender awards, and preparing award letters.
  • Contract period: 1 - 2 years.

 

Job Requirements

  • Possess a Professional Certificate/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Contract Management, or an equivalent field.
  • Registered with BQSM/RISM.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in the consultancy/construction/property development industry, with an advantage for candidates with relevant experience in Japan.
  • Strong knowledge of pre- and post-contract works.
  • Demonstrated analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Effective management skills, emphasizing teamwork and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of integrity.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken Japanese.
