Purchasing Manager

Our client is a well-known furniture & fitting manufacturing company. In order to support rapid and

aggressive expansion, our client is looking for a talented and dynamic professional to join them as

the Purchasing Manager.

 

Job Responsibilities

• Prepared and processed purchase orders in accordance with company policies.

• Managed and monitored local and overseas deliveries to ensure timely arrival at site/store.

• Sourced, selected, and negotiated the best purchases regarding quality, price, terms, and

services with subcontractors and suppliers.

• Coordinated with planners and the warehouse to meet project requirements while adhering

to inventory limits.

• Handled and monitored claims for defective items, shortages, and missing parts per

company policy.

• Collaborated with the Accounts Payable Department to ensure accurate payment by

verifying invoices and deliveries.

• Sourced new parts, suppliers, and subcontractors to support growth for new projects.

• Assisted relevant departments with quotations for tender submissions.

• Maintained procurement files and purchasing data in the system.

• Developed and implemented purchasing strategies, evaluating performance through:

a) Effective oversight and delegation within the purchasing department.

b) Cost-saving measures, including project-based reviews and price list control.

c) Improved supplier base and vendor evaluations.

d) Prepared and summarized reports, including monthly updates.

• Carried out ad-hoc tasks assigned by management as needed.

 

Job requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Strong negotiation and communication skills.

• Competent and accurate in procurement processes.

• Experience in the furniture and fittings industry is a plus.

• Strong sense of urgency and ability to multitask under pressure.

• Knowledge of ERP systems.
