Our client, a well-known retail chain is seeking a General Manager of Sales and Operations.

 

As the General Manager of Sales and Operations, you will lead the development and execution of our sales strategy, ensuring operational efficiency and driving business growth. This role focuses on strategic planning, team leadership, customer relationship management, and achieving operational excellence to meet revenue and profitability objectives.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to enhance revenue growth, increase market share, and explore new business opportunities and customer segments.
  • Establish and achieve sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, while analyzing performance metrics to optimize outcomes.
  • Oversee the sales team by managing recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and fostering a high-performance culture centered on customer success.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders, addressing concerns to ensure satisfaction and retention.
  • Create and execute operational strategies that align with organizational objectives, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost management.
  • Evaluate and enhance operational processes to increase efficiency and productivity, while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Monitor and balance customer demand with operational capabilities, ensuring effective forecasting and coordination between sales and operations to meet delivery timelines.
  • Implement systems to track performance deviations from budgets and quality standards, developing action plans to address variances.
  • Work closely with real estate, maintenance, and construction teams to maintain optimal store conditions and support seamless strategy execution across departments.
  • Engage in organizational planning, budgeting, and forecasting while contributing to long-term goals and expansion initiatives.
  • Stay informed on market trends and competitor activities, leveraging data insights to make strategic decisions.
  • Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate operational and financial impacts.
  • Analyze financial performance, operational metrics, and sales data, providing detailed reports and improvement recommendations to senior management.
  • Regularly track key performance indicators (KPIs) for sales and operations, presenting comprehensive reports to senior management.
  • Foster accountability through routine reviews and assessments of departmental and individual performance.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in sales, operations, or general management, with a proven track record of achieving results, preferably in a retail setting.
  • At least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the capability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
  • Familiarity with industry trends, CRM software, and operational management tools.
