A leading multinational FMCG company with a strong portfolio of well-loved food and beverage brands is seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Trade Marketing Manager  to join their Asia regional hub, based in Kuala Lumpur. With a strong presence across key Asian markets, the company is known for both its global icons and popular local favourites. This role offers the opportunity to shape trade marketing strategies and execution for high- growth brands in a fast-paced, consumer-driven environment.

 

THE ROLE

As a Senior Trade Marketing Manager , you will be responsible for driving the overall trade marketing agenda across Modern Trade and General Trade channels. You will lead a team, align closely with commercial and brand teams, and ensure world-class shopper execution across multiple categories and markets. This is a high-impact leadership position, ideal for someone who thrives in a cross-functional environment and is passionate about bridging brand strategy with in-market performance.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive trade marketing strategy aligned with brand and commercial goals across key retail channels.

 Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a high-performing trade marketing team. Drive excellence in planning,execution, and innovation.

Campaign & In-store Activation

  • Oversee the execution of impactful trade programs, promotional campaigns, and POS materials that enhance visibility and shopper engagement.

Channel Strategy

  • Design tailored channel and customer-specific activation plans that drive conversion and category growth.

Budget & ROI Management

  •  Manage trade marketing budgets and measure the effectiveness of initiatives to ensure optimal ROI.

Market Insights & Competitor Monitoring

  • Leverage shopper insights and competitive intelligence to inform strategy and maintain a leadership position in-store.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA is a plus.
  • 8–10 years’ experience in trade marketing or commercial roles within the FMCG industry.
  • Proven experience leading teams and managing regional campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of the Malaysian retail landscape, especially Modern Trade.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and strong commercial acumen.
