Job Description

Our client is looking for an Assistant Manager, DevOps to join their engineering team. The role focuses on designing and managing CI/CD pipelines, automating cloud infrastructure on AWS, Kubernetes (EKS/ECS), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible), and improving platform reliability and scalability.

They're looking for someone with solid hands-on DevOps experience in cloud-native environments and strong expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of DevOps practices to enable reliable and scalable software delivery.
  • Build, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines to streamline application deployment across multiple environments.
  • Manage and automate cloud infrastructure on AWS using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent).
  • Administer containerised environments using Kubernetes (EKS/ECS) and drive infrastructure scalability and performance.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system availability and operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, deployment, and production issues while improving platform reliability.
  • Embed security best practices into infrastructure, deployment processes, and cloud operations.
  • Work closely with Software Engineering, QA, Product, and other technical teams to support platform architecture and delivery.
  • Mentor DevOps engineers, establish technical standards, and promote continuous improvement across DevOps operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 6–9 years of DevOps experience, ideally within cloud-native or SaaS environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes (EKS/ECS), and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Good knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
  • Experience supporting cloud infrastructure, container platforms, and deployment automation.
  • Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
  • Ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor team members, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
