About the Role
Our client, a well-established water services and utilities group, is seeking an experienced HR professional to oversee the full spectrum of Human Resources and Administration functions. The successful candidate will provide strategic HR support to Management, ensure compliance with relevant employment and statutory requirements, and oversee administrative operations to support the organisation’s overall business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full spectrum of HR and administrative functions, including recruitment, employee engagement, performance management, learning and development, and Industrial Relations matters.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian labour laws, immigration regulations, industrial relations requirements, and statutory obligations, including EPF, SOCSO, EIS, HRD, and minimum wage requirements.
- Prepare, manage, and monitor the department’s budget, including manpower costs and internal HR equity.
- Serve as the HR subject matter expert and provide Management with advice on HR best practices, policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with the Operations team to improve workforce productivity and address HR-related issues effectively.
- Oversee the implementation and coordination of HR plans, programmes, and initiatives to ensure organisational objectives are achieved.
- Manage general administrative functions, including procurement, logistics, and the maintenance of offices, equipment, buildings, and fixed assets.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Relations, or an equivalent discipline.
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in a similar HR and Administration leadership capacity.
- Good knowledge of general administrative functions, including asset management, procurement processes, office equipment, insurance, and telecommunications.
- Existing relationships or experience working with relevant government agencies will be an added advantage.
- Proficient in both written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with proven leadership capabilities.
- Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities effectively, and perform well under pressure.
