About the Role

We are seeking an experienced AWS Senior Cloud Engineer to lead the delivery of cloud migration, modernization, and transformation projects for enterprise clients. 

This is a hands-on technical role where you will design, implement, automate, and optimize AWS cloud environments while collaborating with Solution Architects, Project Managers, and customer stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Solution Design & Delivery

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available AWS solutions.
• Translate solution architectures into detailed designs and implementation plans.
• Recommend appropriate AWS services, deployment strategies, and best practices.
• Identify technical risks and provide effective solutions.

Cloud Migration & Implementation

• Lead the deployment, configuration, and migration of AWS infrastructure and services.
• Deliver cloud migration and modernization projects.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automation processes.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, security, and performance issues.

Technical Leadership

• Lead technical workstreams and ensure successful project delivery.
• Mentor and support junior cloud engineers.
• Review technical designs and implementation approaches to maintain quality standards.

Stakeholder Management

• Facilitate technical discussions, workshops, and solution reviews.
• Work closely with clients, project teams, and key stakeholders throughout project delivery.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks.
• Promote cloud engineering best practices and standards.
• Drive automation and process improvements to enhance delivery efficiency.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or related roles.
• Proven experience delivering cloud migration, modernization, or cloud infrastructure projects.
• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS services, including compute, networking, storage, security, and monitoring.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts such as VPC, DNS, routing, VPN, load balancing, and hybrid connectivity.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.
• Experience with Git-based version control workflows.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in Linux and/or Windows environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Job Responsibilities

1. DevOps & Infrastructure Management

• Lead DevOps initiatives covering CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and environment reliability across staging, UAT, and production.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and scalability of cloud and on‑premise systems.
• Optimise infrastructure performance, cost efficiency, and compliance with data governance frameworks (e.g., ISO27001, SOC2).

2. Network & IT Operations

• Manage internal network systems, firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.
• Oversee IT support operations, ensuring timely resolution of hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation for network topology, device inventory, and access management logs.

3. Office Workspace & Asset Management

• Supervise office workspace allocation, IT asset lifecycle, and hardware procurement.
• Coordinate with HR and Admin to ensure efficient onboarding and workstation setup.
• Uphold safety, ergonomic, and facility management standards.

4. Security & Compliance

• Implement and enforce IT security protocols and compliance frameworks.
• Monitor potential threats and apply proactive risk‑mitigation measures.
• Conduct periodic audits on system access, configuration, and security controls.

5. Leadership & Strategic Planning

• Mentor and guide the Systems Engineering team to deliver high operational standards.
• Develop SOPs, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Report system metrics, incidents, and recommendations to senior management.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT operations, DevOps, or infrastructure management, including 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Proficient in network administration, VPN configuration, and firewall management.
• Familiar with containerisation tools (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Experienced with monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK) and system automation.
• Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks (ISO27001, SOC2, GDPR) is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
• Organised, analytical, and committed to driving high system performance and reliability.
